Just imagine being on these decks with the SS United States making steam into the wind, the sun and the fresh ocean air.

During builder's sea trials off the Virginia Capes the mighty SS United States had her first chance to strut her stuff. Making up to 34 knots in rough seas with winds up to 45 knots. Even with gale conditions she impressed all and sailed high and dry. At times relative wind speed on the ship reached 78 knots! Can you smell that salt air now?

Put yourself on the Bridge now for a commanding view.
